COMMISSIONER ADAM PUTNAM ENDORSES WILTON SIMPSON
June 1, 2012
DADE CITY, Fla. — Today, the Wilton Simpson for State Senate Campaign announced the endorsement of Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture, Adam Putnam. Putnam, elected in 2010, also served in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Florida House of Representatives. He credits Simpson's conservative values, business acumen, and community leadership in his decision to back Simpson for Florida Senate.
“Wilton understands what it takes to run a business, balance a budget, and meet tough deadlines; that's key for Florida,” said Commissioner Adam Putnam. “The qualities and experience Wilton Simpson will bring to Florida's government will allow him to make an immediate positive impact on our state.”
Putnam joins fellow cabinet officers Attorney General Pam Bondi and Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater in their endorsement of Wilton Simpson's bid for State Senate. Also backing Simpson are former Governor Bob Martinez, Senate President Mike Haridopolos, Congressman Richard Nugent, Congressman Gus Bilirakis, former Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite, and Sumter County Sheriff Bill Farmer. Simpson has also been endorsed by the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association.
“We are so thankful for Commissioner Putnam's support and endorsement,” said candidate Wilton Simpson. “Florida greatly benefits from smart, conservative leaders like him who are leading us down the road to economic recovery.”
